November 2006
November 1st , 2006 - Aphel today announced the launch of their innovative dual-output voltage PDU.  Rated at 30 Amps, 208 Volts, this MT3 Series of Rackmount PDUs supports both new and legacy hardware.

"The launch of these MT3 models represents a significant advancement over the standard market 30A/208V PDUs " said Kevin Macomber, Vice President of Business Development. "While customers continue to transition to the utilization of 208V for computer hardware, there remains a need to support legacy equipment at 120V. Customers have been obligated to use either three phase power or run two separate circuits to their rackmount enclosure. This new Aphel design eliminates that requirement and more importantly, allows customers to better utilize their pole positions at the panelboard. Coupled with an ammeter that can monitor both outputs and the Neutral, this solution is simply unmatched in the marketplace."

MT3 provides total power ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 Watts as well as optional metering or remote monitoring (RS232) capability. Employing the patent pending rPower™ , users can read the high-resolution color display from as far as 12 feet or through the enclosure door perforation. Additionally, rPower™ improves installation flexibility as it can be connected to traditional console port switches.  Because of its capability to support so many servers, MT3 greatly simplifies and reduces the cost of rackmount power management.

July 2006
July 14th, 2006 - Aphel today announced the launch of their vertical 60A MT3 Series of Rackmount PDUs to support standard and blade servers.

As a continuance of one of the largest product portfolios ever released in North America , these MT3 Series models provide unprecedented power in a vertical (0U) design.

"The launch of the MT3 Series represents one of the greatest success stories in Aphel's history and probably the North American marketplace" said Kevin Macomber, Vice President of Business Development. "The demand for high density power solutions has required us to push the envelope and develop the first vertical 10kW solutions of their type. Over the coming months, Aphel will continue to exceed the market expectations with both innovative designs and breakthrough technology."

MT3 provides total power ranging from 5,000 to 10,000 Watts as well as optional metering or remote monitoring (RS232) capability. Employing the patent pending rPower™ , users can read the high-resolution color display from as far as 12 feet or through the enclosure door perforation. Apr 2006
April 7th, 2006 - Aphel today announced the launch of their SL3 Series of low profile, vertical power strips with RS232 remote capability.

Unlike competitive models that use IDC (insulation displacement) receptacles, SL3 employs datacenter grade outlets to support high-power servers.

"Today's IT market is quickly requiring power products to support increasing server power consumption." said Kevin Macomber, Vice President of Business Development. "SL3 ensures reliability by using higher quality components consistent with Datacenter design practices. IDC receptacles simply do not meet today's mission critical requirements."

SL3 is available from 20 to 30 Amps (at 120V) and is standard with RS232 capability. Employing the patent pending rPower™ , users can read the high-resolution color display from as far as 12 feet or through the enclosure door perforation. Additionally, rPower™ improves installation flexibility as it can be connected to traditional console port switches.  Because of its very low profile (only 1.3"), SL3 minimizes the space required by larger power strips.

Feb 2006
February 16th, 2006 - Aphel today announced the launch of the DBH2 Series of Rackmount PDUs to support blade servers.

DBH2 represents the first of a number of ultra-dense power solutions Aphel will be delivering to the market this year.

"The release of DBH2 provides a sophisticated solution for the next generation of hardware a nd high density  enclosures." said Kevin Macomber, Vice President of Business Development. "Its ability to support up to six, 2,900 Watt servers with four power supplies is simply unprecedented."

DBH2 provides an amazing 17,200 Watts of power in a compact 2U chassis. Models are available with either twelve C19 or L6-15R (twistlock) outlets to achieve redundancy. Optional satellite power units are available to support smaller servers and ancillary equipment.

Employing the Easy-Read™ digital ammeter, users can read the high-resolution color display from as far as 12 feet or through the enclosure door perforation. Because it can support so many large servers, DBH2 reduces the number of plenum cables and simplifies installation .

Dec 2005
Aphel announce that it has launched rPOWER TM Remote Power Management for Datacenter and IT applications.
Featuring an eight channel, auto-scrolling capability, the rPower RS232 enabled meter, provides remote monitoring for 20 - 60 Amp (125 / 208 Volt) rackmount enclosure power solutions.

"We are very excited to start shipments of our first rPower units," said Kevin Macomber, Vice President of Business Development. "Since its development, we have seen huge interest in this technology set, particularly from our customers who manage mission critical facilities."

Unlike traditional ammeters which require the user to be in close proximity, rPower™ has an impressive high-resolution color display that can be viewed from as far as 12 feet or through the enclosure door perforation. Aside from the ammeter, the device connects to traditional console port switches and can be managed simultaneously with other RS232 based devices.  rPower represents a major advancement in power monitoring as it greatly simplifies and reduces the cost of power management.
